Bluegrass Crew 2011

We invite anyone who is attending this year's Bluegrass Classic to help form our much needed crew of hands-on volunteers!

Announcers
The Bluegrass Classic will be increasing the information available to the public by having an Announcer providing information about the exhibitors, trial, sponsors, & general information on Friday & Saturday 10am to 4pm and on Sunday 9am to 4pm. Announcer slots will be 2 hours each. Information will be prepared and in notebook form so Announcer doesn't need to know each exhibitor or sponsor personally. Please contact  John Grosse at grosseair@comcast.net if you would like more information and/or would like to volunteer to help as an Announcer.

Scribing, Posting Scores, Hospitality
This will provide the Novice handler in particular with the opportunity to learn about trial rules, scoring, and the many aspects of efficiently running a trial.  Specific needs include scribes for our Judges, score posting, and volunteers to man the Hospitality Gazebo (located beside the Open field).  Those manning the hospitality area will help with  t-shirt & hat sales, distribution of programs, answering spectator questions and keeping the supply of drinks and snacks flowing to the handlers, Judges and top end crew.

We promise to leave you with plenty of time to watch the trials and visit with friends.  It takes handlers, spouses, spectators and friends to make the Bluegrass Classic a success.  We sincerely appreciate everyone who has worked so hard in the past and we hope to see you again, as well as many new faces!  Please contact Annie O'Toole at annieotoole@live-360.com if you are able to lend a helping hand.  Let her know which days and hours you are available.  Feel free to pick up more than one 3 hour slot!  Don't forget to include your phone number (and class if you are running a dog).

We will post assigned jobs on the website, but please check in at the hospitality pavilion each morning to check the master schedule.  Drop by the pavilion during the day and sign up for any vacant slots!  We sincerely thank the many volunteers, handlers and friends that work so hard to make this trial a success.

Other Volunteers
Handlers with well trained dogs who are not running many dogs throughout the trial, and who might be available for on-call jobs such as set-out, helping to exhaust, etc
